Post Home Fund Raiser
Dear Comrades,
As most of you know, Post 2280 has been without a permanent post Home/Building for many years now. We have relied on donated space. While this does work for short periods of time, it is not an ideal situation. Having a permanent facility helps the Post in many ways. The community will always know where we are, we have a place to store post equipment, display post history, hold meetings, and host community events. Without a permanent location, it is more difficult to accomplish these tasks and help support the mission of the VFW.
At the last general membership meeting, we decided to initiate a Capital Fund Raising drive towards a permanent home with the Post membership. Why the post membership you may ask – this is our Post and we should support it, and thus the mission of the VFW. The proposal is for each member to donate a recommendation of $10.00 per month over a period of 2years. This amounts to $240.00 per member. By splitting it up into monthly installments, it makes it easier to support without putting a burden on members. We have approximately 685 members in the post. This would mean, if all members contributed at the recommended amount, we would have a total of $164,400.00 after the 2 years were up. This would enable us to purchase property either with an existing structure or erect a structure. The funds would not be used for the General Fund and a monthly accounting will be available for the post members. As a reminder, donations to the post may be eligible to be claimed as a charitable deduction on your taxes

sent directly to our Post Bank (COBALT Credit Union – Formerly SAC Federal Credit Union FBO Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2280)
via the “Donate button on our website (www.vfw2280.org - in the left column)
via our Paypal account (veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2280).
When making your donation, please remember to provide a note/memo of who it is from and that it is for the capital fund raising drive so we can record them for tax accounting purposes.
